Peanut Statement

The peanut butter we use in the peanut butter wafer bars and Buddy Bars sold under the Mrs. Freshley's, Mrs. Freshley's SnackAway, Blue Bird, Bishop's, and Royal brands comes from a U.S. supplier that is not involved in the current peanut butter recall nor associated with the peanut processing company named in the recall.

We have contacted our supplier about this matter and have been assured that our peanut butter supply is safe. Our peanut butter supplier has safeguards in place to ensure high levels of food safety and follows good manufacturing practices, which include lab testing for salmonella. Every shipment of peanut butter we receive must be accompanied by documentation verifying it has passed this test.

In addition, out of an abundance of caution, we send peanut butter samples to an independent lab for salmonella testing to verify our supplier's documentation. Our most recent test results, received the week of March 23, 2009, confirmed that our peanut butter is safe.
